Ingredients

  • ¾ cup whole milk or cream
  • 1 cup cooked ham cubed
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¾ teaspoon fine salt
  • 3 tablespoons green onions finely sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 single unbaked pie crust
  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded (divided use)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Gently place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate, pressing it evenly along the bottom and up the sides; crimp the edges decoratively if preferred.
  • In a mixing bowl, vigorously whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until fully combined.
  • Scatter the diced ham, 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, and the green onions across the base of the crust. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the filling.
  • Top the quiche with the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese.
  • Transfer to the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center has set completely.
  • Allow the quiche to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
