Preheat the oven to 400º F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a medium bowl, mix the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/2 cup of sugar until the ingredients are well combined.
Spread the pretzel mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before crumbling into pieces.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese for 2 to 4 minutes, or until light and fluffy. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar and continue to mix until well incorporated.
Gently fold in the drained pineapple and the thawed whipped topping until everything is well mixed. Allow the mixture to set in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Just before serving, sprinkle the crumbled pretzel mixture over the top and fold it in gently. Serve and enjoy!
