Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 pound fresh green beans washed and trimmed
  • Olive oil spray
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ranch dressing mix
  • ¾ cup panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Set the oven to preheat at 425°F (218°C). In a mixing bowl, blend the panko bread crumbs with the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly combined. Immerse the green beans in the beaten eggs, ensuring each is well coated, then dredge them through the breadcrumb mixture so they are fully covered. Arrange the coated green beans on a baking sheet in a single, even layer. Mist them gently with olive oil spray. Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove, carefully flip each green bean, and return to the oven for an additional 2–5 minutes, or until they reach a golden, crispy texture.

Notes

For convenience, consider purchasing pre-washed and trimmed green beans. Substituting seasoned breadcrumbs allows you to omit the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. To coat a larger batch, utilize a gallon-sized resealable bag to shake the green beans with the breading. Using kitchen tweezers, tongs, or a fork for dipping helps maintain the breadcrumb mixture’s consistency. For extra crispiness after flipping, activate the broiler for about 2 minutes, monitoring closely to avoid burning.
Air Fryer Option: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F. Arrange breaded green beans in a single layer in the basket and air fry for roughly 5 minutes until golden brown.
These green bean fries are best enjoyed fresh. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven or toaster oven to restore crispiness — avoid using the microwave.
