Ingredients

  • 1 lime cut into wedges
  • 1 Tbsp fresh chives finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper or as needed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce*
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 24 oz boneless skinless salmon filet, sliced into six 4-ounce portions
  • 2 Tbsp light olive oil or any high-heat cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt or to taste

Instructions

  • In a measuring cup, whisk together honey and soy sauce until smooth and set the glaze aside. Season each salmon portion generously on both sides with sea salt and black pepper. Place the flour onto a shallow plate and lightly coat both sides of each salmon piece, gently shaking off any excess. Warm a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, then add the olive oil. Using a brush, coat one side of each salmon piece with half of the prepared glaze. Once the oil is heated through, lay the salmon glaze-side down into the skillet. Brush the exposed side with the remaining glaze while in the pan. Sauté the first side for about 3 minutes until lightly caramelized, then flip and cook the opposite side for another 3 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily and appears opaque throughout. To serve, drizzle freshly squeezed lime juice over the salmon and finish with a scattering of chopped chives if desired.

Notes

*For a gluten-free alternative, replace soy sauce with coconut aminos or Tamari Gluten Free Soy Sauce.
**Avoid using high heat to prevent the glaze from burning.
