Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ cup sliced almonds optional
  • ¾ cup oats quick or old-fashioned
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 5 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Zest the lemon and extract the juice from one half.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the blueberries with granulated sugar, lemon zest, 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice, and 3 tablespoons of flour. Transfer the mixture into a 2-quart baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, use a fork to mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, oats, ¼ cup flour, optional sliced almonds, and cinnamon until the mixture becomes crumbly. Evenly distribute this topping over the blueberry mixture.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping achieves a golden hue and the fruit beneath bubbles. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
