Ingredients

For the Donuts:

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups 320ml milk
  • 2 cups 10oz/300g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup 4oz/120g butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup 2 1/2oz/75g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 1/2 cup 4oz/120g sugar
  • 1/4 cup 2oz/60g butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

For the Chocolate Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup 3oz/90g chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cream

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter that has cooled slightly.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until smooth and lump-free.
  • Spoon or pipe the batter into a prepared donut tin.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the donuts are golden and set.
  • Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • While the donuts cool, melt 1/4 cup of butter in a small bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for coating. Set aside.

Chocolate Ganache:

  • Melt the chopped chocolate using a microwave or a double boiler.
  • Stir in the cream until a smooth and glossy ganache forms.

Assemble Donuts:

  • Brush each cooled donut with melted butter, ensuring it’s coated on all sides.
  • Roll the buttered donuts in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully covered.
  • Dip the top half of each donut into the prepared chocolate ganache, generously coating the tops.
