Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef cooked and drained
  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup thick salsa
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 16 oz can refried beans

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef until it's browned, then drain any excess fat.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the Bisquick baking mix, water, and refried beans until smooth.
  • Spread the Bisquick and bean mixture evenly over the bottom of a pie plate or an iron skillet.
  • Layer the cooked ground beef over the mixture, then evenly spread the salsa on top.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the layers.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve warm, topped with sour cream and avocado, if desired.

Notes

For a spicier version, use hot salsa or add diced jalapeños.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
